The leadership team at Georgia Southern University Jack A. Averitt College of Graduate Studies (COGS) recognized the potential of an online orientation system to personalize the graduate student orientation and onboarding experience. Today, orientation for graduate students is accessible, relevant, and reflects the adult, more mature learner with a modern and contemporary feel.
Uniquely, COGS operates as a service unit to the university's eight colleges offering graduate programs. It performs as an information hub as respective departments manage each orientation program. Given this organizational reality, communicating a streamlined registration process was essential.
